The Booker Prizes have a number of events taking place across the country.

From literature festivals including Hay, Edinburgh and Cheltenham to intimate events at local bookshops.

 

Edinburgh International Book Festival

The world's largest public celebration of the written word in the world, and runs from 10-26 August. It is situated in the centre of Edinburgh, in Charlotte Square Gardens. More information on all the Booker Prizes events can be found on the festival's website.

2019 Man Booker International Prize shortlisted Jen Calleja and Sophie Hughes at Baillie Gifford Corner Theatre

Join two of the 2019 Man Booker Prize shortlisted translators as they discuss their work and what makes a successful translator. They will be joined by Man Booker International judge, Maureen Freely.

The 2019 Booker Prize readings at the Southbank Centre

13 October, 19:30-21:00

Join the 2019 Booker Prize shortlist in an evening of readings and conversation.

On the eve of the announcement of the 2019 winner, the Southbank Centre will host this year’s shortlisted authors for an evening of readings and conversation around their novels.

The event takes place at the Southbank Centre, London. The event's host is yet to be announced.

The Booker Prize 2019 Winner in conversation at Foyles, Charing Cross Road, London

17 October, 19:00-20:00

Join the Booker Prize 2019 winner three days after the announcement, as they read from their acclaimed novel and open up on the experience of winning the prize.

Following the event, there will be a Q&A with the audience, and a book signing.

The event will take place at Foyles flagship store on Charing Cross Road in London, and is presented in partnership with New Statesman, chaired by Deputy Editor Tom Gatti.
